Think a boudoir session is something you should’ve done 10 years ago? You may be right, but the time to have one is now!

Boudoir photography is all about being comfortable in your own skin and celebrating your unique beauty. No matter your age, your size,, you are gorgeous. As we age, it can become harder to feel good about our bodies, especially with a culture that tell us that beauty—and youth—are everything. I love working with women of all ages, experience and confidence. As we get older and life gets more hectic we can sometimes push that part of celebrating our own beauty aside to care for kids, loved ones and busy schedules. A boudoir session is the perfect chance to reconnect with that woman, or maybe meet her for the first time.

If you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s and considering a boudoir shoot, check out these ways to feel confident and capture images that will help you show off your femininity and sexiness.

Start conservatively.

When many women think of boudoir, they think of lacy lingerie or even naked boudoir, both of which may feel way outside your comfort zone. But boudoir is so much more than lingerie. The outfits you wear are up to you, and it’s best to start with something you feel comfortable in. I prefer to start sessions in the most modest outfit, which can be a button down shirt, off the shoulder sweater or slouchy tee, a cocktail dress, the options are endless.

Whatever you choose to wear, it often helps to start with something more conservative and slowly work your way up to lingerie looks. Remember: sexy isn’t about bare skin—it’s about attitude and confidence.

Embrace your beauty.

Your beauty is unique and tells the story of your life’s journey, your story is unique to you! Boudoir photography allows you to fully capture that beauty.

Find a photographer you trust.

You want your photographer to be skilled at highlighting your best features. They should know how to use lighting, posing, wardrobe, makeup, and especially your individuality to create gorgeous and sexy boudoir images of you. Think you don’t have the confidence yet? 99% of women who come in for their session are nervous. That’s going to change.
ASK TO SEE SAMPLES! I have many sample albums of women of all ages in the studio to view. Reach out to me if you are considering a session for a no risk consult.
